YES!!! I have been waiting for this! Lol is it weird that I only started watching TGP2 so that I could continue listening to you guys over the summer?? Is it weirder still that I’m far more invested in Glee Chat and now TGP2 than I am in the actual show? XD lol

Man, I wish they would release the songs from TGP2 as singles. I find I’m enjoying them far more than the numbers from the show. Last season, I kept wanting to fast-forward through most of the numbers. I actually look forward to them in TGP2.

    • Crw17

I agree with everything you said. I’m totally more into The Glee Project than the real show. :) and I wish all of Nellie’s last chance performances could be released on iTunes.

    • John Thrasher

Totally agree! TGP1 was kind of boring at times.

      • Cassie Drake

Lol I actually never saw TGP1. I had no interest in it, or TGP2, except for now to keep up with Glee Chat lol. I was referring to musical numbers in the actual show, Glee xD lol

        • John Thrasher

I really appreciate that kind of dedication to our show! Thank you!

          • Cassie Drake

lol you guys make it so easy! You’re like my faves ever and I’m totes thrilled that you’ve replied to me not once, but TWICE now and have even responded to my tweets and stuff!

I actually listened to you guys rehash the first two episodes of TGP2 without having watched it or even having watched TGP1. I knew about them, but I was basically listening blind xD lol I finally decided that I would watch TGP2, just so I could know what y’all were talking about haha

  • Laura Jones

i’m the same as Cassie Drake! I only started watching the glee project so i could continue listening to glee chat and now i’m finding the glee project way more exciting and entertaining than glee itself haha! love the show!

Either they display Blake as super nice or he is the biggest sweetheart ever. His moment encouraging Ali was great. He and Shanna make my day and should both win! <3

    • John Thrasher

      Totally agree. He’s a sweety.

  • thegarbar13

Oh and lets say that Darren Criss constantly says he is not romantic… well he is mentoring ROMANTICALITY week! Me and my friends laughed about this. We think he is the best man on freakin earth… just a fangirl view

  • Emma Beatcha

Jessica tweeted that she mentioned me “but not by name” in this episode, so I skipped way ahead 10 episodes and had to listen to this one. Well I heard her mention there was a new listener in Jacksonville and just kept on listening….and much to my surprise I ended up as LOTW. I’m quite okay with that! Thank y’all! <3
Now to go back to Episode 30 and catch up!

    • Emma Beatcha

Oh, and I’m still waiting for the day you all sing the end credits theme instead of letting the recording play. Please let that happen!

      • Mitchel Clow

Haha I’ll have to ask John if we can!

        • Emma Beatcha

Oh please, oh please, oh pleeeeaase, John? lol

  • d3erudite

@johnthrasher when they did eye of the tiger I pictured u, selina, Andrew , Richard , Jessica , Jeremy , and pat doing that video. You and Jessica got the bad luck of getting the jump rope lol.

TCA clear up: So my friend was over and the only reason we watched was to see Darren Criss on the screen. We have 3 pics of him on the screen (whoo hooo but amyway he was not on the stage with Justin Bieber. Darren Criss posted a picture on facebook of his performance. And Roxanne, I miss the beard too! Wondering why he didn’t post any of these pics on his instagram but anyway… Hoping it grows back for LeakyCon!! 16 days!!

    • Thegarbar13

Oh and in the begiining of this weeks episode… Aylin was so wearing Charlie’s hat!

On the topic of Damian McGinty leaving… I just wanted to share my opinion of The Glee Project Season 1 winners as someone who at the time had no idea what the Glee Project was. (I was under the impression that it followed a real-life Glee Club)
First of all, I paid zero attention to Lindsay Pearce. Without TGP, I had no emotional connection to Harmony and I didn’t really care. I honestly can’t even remember much about her part on the show.
When Damian McGinty came on I was a bit confused as to why they were adding a new character, but I loved Rory. I thought his accent was sexy. :D I loved seeing his storyline, but it didn’t bother me when he wasn’t featured, because I didn’t know him that well.
I loved when Sam Larsen came on. I couldn’t remember what his name was, so I called him “Teen Jesus” (which I think is how they introduce him on the show). I also thought he was cute, and I didn’t think twice when they added him in.
I loved Alex Newell’s character as well. When Wade/Unique said “Unique might have to consider switching schools next year,” my friend and I who were watching the show together squealed in delight.
Over all, not having seen TGP was kind of a good thing and a bad thing. On one hand, I didn’t have the emotional connection to the characters that looking back I see the writers already expected me to have. On the other hand, I wasn’t upset by the show’s treatment of the characters (Basically forgetting about Rory for example).
Now that I’m actually watching TGP, I wonder what my reaction will be next season!

  • Thegarbar13

Jess, thinking of you while watching the Olympics and a burd was on the tenniss court. :) The ball boys chase them off so no worries!

  • Jessica Humphrey

I’m a relatively new listener (within the past month or so), and have thoroughly enjoyed each podcast with everyone’s antics and insights!  I’m all caught up now (thanks to marathon plays throughout my night shifts!), but I did want to address a relatively minor point that keeps getting brought up in a few recordings, the most recent being episode #38.

Jessica has aired her frustrations about Kurt being left out of the guys’ locker room scenes.  I also am an advocate for equality and I’m sure that under other circumstances, I’d be irritated at this singling out, too.  However, throughout my high school experience in the Midwest (quite a few years ago!), Gym was only required through one’s sophomore year to fulfill as a graduation requirement.  It was offered as an elective for junior and senior students to take if they chose.  Given that Kurt has not shown a particular interest in organized sports and would likely have enrolled in other courses once this requirement had been met, it never bothered me that he wasn’t included in these particular scenes.  This may not be something that specifically occurred to the writers, but these are just my thoughts.

Best of luck to everyone, and I’m sure I’ll be popping by from time to time in the future!

the gym point was a really interesting comment, i never thought of it that way. i always thought it was really more of what chris colfer has said, which is that he believes kurt to identify with the girls more. he’s given interviews many times saying that he’s left out of those scenes as it seems like his character would be less of a “guy’s guy”, but that is definitely a good point.

another idea to go along with that — maybe his time on the cheerios waived his gym credit? i’ve seen that happen before, where someone involved in a sport that’s particularly strenuous (as i’m sure the cheerior would be) gets out of their gym credit due to their activity elsewhere.

      • Jessica Humphrey

I was on my school’s dance team, and they waived the credit.  It’s also going above and beyond the minimum PE requirement because of all of the additional hours you spend practicing/competing outside of the normal school day.  I think it’s entirely possible that Kurt’s time on The Cheerios counted toward this, but since we don’t exactly have a reliable timeline within the show, there’s no way to know for sure.

  • LJ

will there be a new Glee Chat soon? :)

  • Thegarbar13

Any possible way of meeting you at Leaky Con? Please let me know! Thanks.
