The Vampire Hype podcast is joined by two special guests for an in-depth discussion about the True Blood finale, some Breaking Dawn movie news and The Vampire Diaries season 4!

Imprint’s Pamela Gocobachi is with us this week to address listener concerns about the future of the show and to share her thoughts on True Blood and some recent Twilight news. We are also joined by Gwen Duenner, who brings the True Blood book knowledge to the discussion of the season 5 finale!

This show is divided into four sections: The Vampire Diaries news (6:20), the True Blood finale discussion (16:59), Twilight: Breaking Dawn: Part 2 news (47:40) and Listener Feedback (59:30). You can listen to the whole thing or skip to the segments that interest you!

    Her name was
Salome (Sal-o-may) i’m just saying lol also in the show in the beginning of the season they say Lilith was the First before adam and eve there was lilith the vampire and humans were meant to be the sustenance of the vampire race blah blah blah… Overall that finale didnt feel like an actual finale there was no real resolution. This felt like an episode before a finale. P.S. i wanted Bill to die and when he came back i was like noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lol

They were also pronouncing Tara wrong too.

    Another great podcast girls :)
I cannot wait for you to discuss Buffy! I only recently got into it and I loved it!
I love the fact that Spike is so like Damon in a sense, as he starts off evil but then turns to the side of good and falls for the girl. Also, Angel is like Stefan, starting off good and then becoming a bad guy again…and then a good guy again :)
Cannot wait for the next podcast :)

Thank you for addressing my time stamps concern! I just want to clarify that I love going on Hypable (it’s actually one of the first sites I open when I open my browser), it’s just that when I don’t have an internet connection and want to listen to the podcast I can’t access the site so having the time stamps on the show and on iTunes would be great! Thanks again! Love the show :D

Hey guys, I enjoyed the podcast, but I just wanted to address a comment made during the Vampire Diaries discussion:

10:30 – “[Rebecca] has made out with loads of people. What else can we do with her?”

I don’t think you meant anything by this comment, but I just wanted to go ahead and bring it up. Can we agree that a woman’s value on a show isn’t based on how many people she has made out with? I appreciate her character, not because of her relationships on the show, but because of her devotion to and love for her family. Granted, being an Original, she’s a bit on the evil side, but it’s undeniable that her character has depth that goes beyond her sexual relationships with the men on the show. I know we all like to dissect the relationships in these shows and movies, but let’s not forget that a female character can have value even if she has made out with a handful of men…

Love the show! Can’t wait for the next episode. :)

Hmm, while I definitely understand where you’re coming from with that concern, I think the comment may have been misunderstood: the way I heard it, what was being said was that while Rebekah has been on the show, she has had very little purpose aside from making out with lots of people. So, seeing as she’s already made out with them, what’s left for her to do now?

I’m pretty sure that was the way the comment was intended. But your comment about a female character having depth is absolutely a valid one! Rebekah SHOULD have a purpose, completely irregardless of gender, and the good news is that it looks like she will in season 4! :)

Great episode! I’m hoping that next season of True Blood will be intense 100% of the time. While I found the storyline of the Authority and Lilith very interesting it dragged on most of the time. Not to mention the bizarre plots (Afrite, Obamas) that didn’t tie in very well. I wouldn’t mind Bill going to the Dark Side completely- I liked him as a character for a long time but he’s just so much more interesting as a villain.

Thank you very much for answering all my questions/grumbles! I feel much more positive about the prospect of this podcast now, and I enjoyed episode 2 a lot. Thank you especially for the update on Imprint – can’t WAIT for that to return :)

Looking forward to perhaps a Breaking Dawn Part 2 Final Trailer Discussion on episode 3 of Vampire Hype…?
