I also get why you guys are suspicious of Rumple’s possible ulterior motives for helping Henry, but I truly believe he was willing to help him free of charge because he does seem to really have a soft spot for children. Though I won’t entirely rule out the possibility of him using it against Regina later.

I don’t know. I feel like if Neal was a fairy tale character and what August showed him was related to that, the scene would have played out differently. Like that he would have asked questions about how he was there any that kind of thing.

Also, the mention of The Red Death sort of made me freak out on the highway while I was listening to this because in the preview David was in a mirror room, like what was in The Phantom of the Opera. This room of mirrors is actually Erik’s (the Phantom) torture chamber. His costume for the masquerade was also The Red Death. I don’t know how far fetched this theory of a relation between this and the show could be but I can tell you that if this was one of the stories integrated into this show I would weep openly because Phantom by Susan Kay is my favorite book and seeing the musical changed my life.

Final note: Your Orpheus reference made me upset. I was not prepared for the Greek mythology feelings on my way to work.

There was one other time that Rumple helped someone without demanding a price. He gave Snow the bow and arrow to kill the evil queen and when Snow asked what the price was, he just said, “I’m invested in your future.” Of course, that did serve his ends because it helped Snow and Charming reunite and fall back into true love, which made his bottle of true love work, enabling him to create the curse, and also allowed Emma to be born to break the curse.

There was also the time that he gave the walkie-talkies to Emma to play with Henry. The only motive he could have had there was to strengthen Emma and Henry’s bond. I think he has a soft spot for their whole family, if only for the fact that they are so full of true love, he can use that magic for a whole host of things.

      This post made me emotional.

To answer your question, the female version of bromance is ho-mance.

      I prefer galmance.

Just discovered this podcast last week and listened to all 11 episodes in 2 days. Loving what you guys are doing, keep up the great work! :)

Who else sees Cora and Spencer getting together and ruling Storybrooke in an epic frenzy of evil? Spencora? Corspen?

  • Kat Giambruno

    Still missing Archie Hopper!

What do you guys think about the possibility that Ruby/Red is Belle’s beast, and not Rumple? Or maybe they both are, and they’ll both try to win her affection?
There were a lot of parallels between Ruby and Belle’s interactions, and those of Beauty and her beast in the movie.
(Just look at the Red Beauty tag on tumblr!)
