Pirates of the Caribbean 5’s directing duo have revealed the film’s title: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg were promoting their new film, Kon-Tiki, when they told This Is Infamous what the film’s title is.
“Dead Men Tell No Tales” will be a very familiar line to those who’ve ridden the theme park attraction in Disney Parks across the world. In case you need a refresher, here’s a sound bite:
The directors didn’t want to divulge any more information on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, but the aforementioned website did say the directors seemed “genuinely enthused about the script they’ll be working with.”

The reason for the “Dead Men Tell No Tales” title is not yet known. Disney may’ve selected it because it’s a familiar line on the wildly popular theme park attraction. Our issue with it, from a reporting perspective, is that it’s quite lengthy.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales will hit theaters July 10, 2015. Filming is expected to begin later this year or early next. The film had been rumored to start shooting last year, but Johnny Depp and producer Jerry Bruckheimer were tied up with The Lone Ranger, which hit theaters in June and flopped critically.
