The first Pirates of the Carribean 5 reviews are comparing the latest installment to the first movie. Woohoo!
Pirates 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales screened for movie theater bigwigs and press on Tuesday night at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. The showing — likely one of the first — followed Disney’s CinemaCon presentation in which they previewed their year ahead.
Here are the first Pirates 5 reviews. Overall they appear to reveal that Johnny Depp and his co-stars have put together a solid movie:

Fans of #PiratesoftheCaribbean will not be disappointed. Pirates 5 is a very fun, action packed adventure w subtle nods to the ride itself.

Though not the best in the franchise, it delivers the fun you expect and want from Sparrow & Co. #PiratesoftheCaribbean #Cinemacon

Pirates 5 not as funny or epic as first 3 (yes) but way better than 4. Great ending. You may cry. Impressive visual effects. #CinemaCon2017

Pirates 5 is definitely the best one since the first. Admittedly, that isn't saying much but it does occasionally capture that magic.

Also new Pirates of the Caribbean the VFX are *really* well done. Had no ending credits so not sure if it has after credits scene.

Dead Men Tell No Tales hits theaters May 26, 2017.
The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea—notably Jack. Jack’s only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Brenton Thwaites), a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitifully small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has ever faced.
