Orphan Black season 4 returns in just one month and they’ve just released their second full length trailer. It’s fast paced and confusing and wonderful…but one thing we noticed is that we may have a hint at Delphine’s fate because of it!
We got our first look at Orphan Black season 4 in January, and then we got an amazing trailer given to us in February. Now March is here and we have yet another beautifully unique trailer to get us more excited for season 4!
The trailers for season 4 have all been pretty fast paced, but we absolutely love the new style. They’re definitely different from most other trailers for TV shows, but it works since Orphan Black is arguably one of the most original shows on television.
The trailer style also diverges from previous seasons, and that makes sense — with the realization that Neolutionism has been in control of the entire human cloning process the direction of the show has changed. Where it’s leading us I can’t say, but I can say that it’s going to involve a lot of references back to the first season and we absolutely cannot wait to see what Beth has to do with the story now. Clearly her story isn’t over and there’s more to discover… but what?
And speaking of characters that have supposedly died, the newest trailer has shown us some interesting news about Delphine’s fate. At the end of last season she had gotten shot by an anonymous individual for not following her orders, but in the shot below we notice something peculiar.
Note that her security status says that her employment has been suspended, whereas Dr. Nealon’s status says N/A Deceased, just a second later. If the DYAD has updated their systems to show that one of their doctors has died, then why wouldn’t they do the same for Delphine if she was also deceased?
Of course, there could be sound explanation for why the systems may not be updated: Perhaps this view of the system is happening directly after the events of last season and so they’re not updated, or maybe no one knows where Delphine went (no one found her yet when she was shot, so it’s possible her body was buried and the murder was covered up).
But yet, with fans so passionate about Delphine and Cosima’s relationship I feel like it would be a grave mistake to include this footage in the trailer if she was indeed dead, because we all know the Orphan Black fandom is smart enough to do investigation into things like these. My bet is that she is alive, somehow. But we’ll have to wait and see!
Orphan Black is going to return this spring on April 14, and we will be bringing up to date coverage on all things Clone Club until then!
