On the latest episode of Orphan Black Sarah had to deal with Rudy again, Alison started scheming and Helena met her jailers.
Glitching
Seth and Rudy are at it again, and by “it” we mean both trying to have sex with the same girl – without her knowledge. Rudy gets her drunk and starts to have sex with her and when Seth shows up she freaks out. Rudy says they were taught to share, and they’re both naked now.
The next morning, Paul shows up at their place to conduct tests on them. They wear some sort of eye-wear and have to answer puzzle questions while Paul monitors them. Rudy gets through it fine but Seth falters a little, and Rudy explains that it’s because they drank last night. Paul lets it go and gives them their extraction orders – but they don’t want to leave because they don’t have the “original” sample.
Rudy calls Seth, who’s going crazy and hallucinating on the side of some road. Rudy says he knows that Seth is “glitching,” and he’s going to help him. When he hangs up, Rudy finds himself in Felix’s apartment and looks for Duncan’s research but can’t find anything – luckily Cosima’s hiding spot is gold.
Sarah and Kira get home, and Sarah gets a bath ready for her while Kira sets up her blanket fort, but Rudy is there. He takes Kira hostage and demands that Sarah tell him about Duncan’s research and where the original genome is. Sarah has no idea where any of that is, and begs him for Kira back. She asks if this is about protecting his brother, and he wants to know how she knows about Seth.
Downstairs, Cal tries to get into the apartment but Seth is stopping him. Cal was going to fight him but then Seth starts going crazy, and falls on the ground screaming. When Rudy hears his brother scream he gives Kira back to Sarah and goes down to check on him, threatening Cal with his gun. Seth is clearly in pain, and so Rudy goes ahead and shoots him twice in the chest, killing him. He takes Seth’s notebook from his pocket and leaves.
Running
Sarah, Kira and Cal are on their way to a new place that Cal bought for himself – and for them. It’s adorable, and the three of them have fun playing in the house. Art calls, asking if she knows anything about the men that attacked a girl at a hotel who came to him. She leaves to meet up with her in front of the police station, much to Art’s dismay.
The girl does trust Sarah and explains that the men who attacked her both had the same tattoo on their forearm: a two headed horse. When she rejected them she explains that they wrote down all of her information from her ID, and then took out a piece of her hair and put it in a bag and ran off. Sarah calls Cosima to see why they would do this, and she explains it’s probably for DNA testing of some sort.
Mrs. S. is still very upset at what she’s done to Sarah, and while Felix tries to calm her down he hands her a new cell phone. It’s a clean one, for her to use to contact her friends and be dodgy so she can help them with her resources, because Felix says that none of them get to be on the sidelines on this.
Sarah shows up, asking Mrs. S. for help contacting Paul but she says he went dark and doesn’t want to be contacted. Little do they know that Paul shows up at Cal’s new place and tells him that he needs to tell Sarah to stop digging. Paul says that Sarah will only listen to him, and Cal needs to talk to her. If he doesn’t then Paul has plenty of information on Cal to get him in trouble, like the knowledge of how Cal sold weapons to get rich.
After the events with Seth and Rudy at Felix’s apartment, Sarah gets Kira ready to run away with Cal. Mrs. S. used her phone to get in contact with her people, who are going to help Cal and Kira get out of the country. After they leave, Sarah says they need to go to the one Castor clone they know: Mark.
Speaking of which, Mark is in his own hotel room somewhere with Gracie. It’s the middle of the night, and Gracie wakes up to see he’s not in bed. He’s in the bathroom, and he takes a blowtorch to his arm to try and get rid of his tattoo.
Lost Samples
Scott shows up at Felix’s to check up on Cosima and he says that the Dr. Nealon at the DYAD wants to meet with them. At the office, Scott and Cosima ask Nealon if the source material for the genome was really destroyed. Nealon says that since Leda started as a military experiment, the military shut them down and they were then brought on by the DYAD. He tells them that the Duncans had sourced two donor lungs for their project – one from a male, and one from a female. When Cosima asks about the identity of the donors, Nealon says that the Duncans took that information to their graves, and everyone thought that project Castor just failed.
Ample Stones
Alison is at their kids’ soccer match and she is angry about Marci, and Donnie says that they can’t afford the campaign – they might even have to sell the house. Donnie goes to take care of the kids and Alison runs into Ramon, who’s selling stuff to some of the other moms there. He also says that he’s going to college and closing his business, and this inspires Alison.
Alison and Donnie then meet up with Ramon in the shed by the soccer field later that day, and Alison tells Ramon that she would like to buy his business. Ramon doesn’t think that they have the stones to do what he does, but they both state that they do and since his clients are already in her circle it’ll be fine.
They meet with Ramon again, this time at night in the parking lot, and he shows her his inventory. He has his client list on a cell phone, and she agrees to pay him 32 thousand dollars for it, but Donnie takes her aside to talk about it. Alison says that she’s just found her voter base for the election with his client list, and Donnie agrees with her plan and they go back to buy the rest from Ramon.
Where is this mango?
Helena has the worst luck in this episode, as her story starts with her being waterboarded by Miller, the clone, and his military buddies. They’re stress testing her, but then the woman in charge comes in and stops them because she knows Helena is pregnant. She introduces herself to Helena as Dr. Virgina Coady and takes her outside to eat. It looks like they’re supposed to be somewhere in the desert. Virgina tries to tell Helena that her sisters sold her out, but Helena doesn’t believe her.
