Once Upon a Time returns in January with “The Cricket Game.” Read a short synopsis as well as some teasers from Jennifer Morrison and Lana Parrilla.
ABC has released the following synopsis, which still doesn’t tell us the centric character:
When Regina is accused of murdering a beloved fairytale character, Emma thinks she is innocent; Prince Charming and Snow White plan the evil queen’s execution.
Further, Jennifer Morrison (Emma) and Lana Parrilla (Regina) have spoken to The Examiner about the returning episode, and Morrison previews the threat of Cora.
“I think Cora is terrifying,” Morrison says. “To me, she’s the most terrifying villain we’ve had only because she’s so sweet and so charming and so easy to believe and then just completely cold-blooded without any sort of remorse for her actions. She’s so one-tracked about what she wants and how she wants it and how things are going to be, and that is usually at the destruction of everyone and everything around her.”
On what this will do to Regina and Emma’s relationship, Morrison speculates that, “I think momentarily Emma wants to have hope that this person can change and that if they both really want the best for Henry, there’s hope for that.”
Parrilla calls Cora’s arrival in Storybrooke “the worst possible outcome that could happen” to Regina, and predicts that her character will probably end up using magic again. And then, “honestly, it has to be executed differently than what we’ve seen, and that’s something I’m playing with now. I’m toying with the idea of when she does use magic to not have it be so fun as it used to be, or maybe there will be elements of it. It all depends on who does what to her.”
