Once Upon a Time returns Sunday with an all-new episode entitled “The Cricket Game”! Read what Kitsis and Horowitz can tease about the rest of season 2.
TV Fanatic has spoken to the showrunning team, and the pair reveal that when Once Upon a Time returns, we should prepare ourselves for more character deaths. “We can kill anyone,” Horowitz warns, although Kitsis doesn’t downplay the significance of offing a major character, saying that they’re still dealing with the fandom fallout of killing Sheriff Graham.
Now that Emma and Snow are back in Storybrooke, we can expect to see the characters begin to think about their future. Horowitz reveals that, “going forward it’s, ‘well, what does this mean being a family? What does it mean being in this world with these memories? And with this new strange familial relationship and what do we want now?'” These are the questions the characters (mainly the Charming family, presumably) will be asking – but of course they’ll also have Cora to deal with!
On whether Cora will get Regina on her side, Horowitz says that, “the real question is how persuasive is Cora?” Can she get Regina to abandon Henry to fight on her side?
Finally, RumBelle fans should be pleased to learn that, “we’re actually going to see a lot of Rumple and Belle coming up.” Kitsis says. “The second half of the season [Rumple] is going to collect that favor for Emma and go in search of his son. He and Belle are definitely going to face definite challenges.”
Once Upon a Time 2×11 “The Cricket Game” airs this Sunday at 8/7c on ABC.
