The writer of the recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has taken on another reboot, this time Angelina Jolie’s Tomb Raider.
Tomb Raider is coming back to the big screen, and Deadline has now reported that the script for the reboot movie will be penned by Evan Daugherty.
Daugherty’s previous writing credits include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Snow White and the Huntsman and Divergent. He is also working on the script for G.I. Joe 3.

The original Tomb Raider movies were adapted from the video game series, and starred Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft.
The new movie, which will likely set up a new series, will not follow on from the originals, but rather reboot the series with a younger version of our heroine embarking on her first adventure.
The decision to reboot the franchise rather than pick up Lara’s story from where it left off (similarly to what Neill Blomkamp is doing with Alien 5) is likely in response to Square Enix’s 2013 reboot of the video game franchise, which sent Lara on an origin story adventure. The newest game, Rise of the Tomb Raider, is set for release later this year.
The new Tomb Raider movie will be produced by Graham King, with MGM and Warner Bros.
