The Night Shift has been renewed by NBC for a second season, which will likely air in summer 2015.
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed today that NBC will be renewing The Night Shift after solid ratings this summer. The show currently airs on Tuesday nights after America’s Got Talent. The current season is set to end on July 15 with only an eight episode arc. The show will likely return in the summer of 2015 with a longer run of 14 episodes.
The show follows those who work the night shift at San Antonio Memorial Hospital. Many of the doctors are former soldiers who fought together in Afghanistan. Leading the rag tag bunch is TC, the ultimate alpha male who will do anything to save a life and his friends. The head of the night shift happens to be TC’s ex-girlfriend, and their relationship is anything but settled.
TC’s biggest adversary isn’t Jordan’s boyfriend. It is Ragosa, the bureaucrat trying to rein him in or fire him — it really depends on the day.
The cast tweeted about the renewal and it seems Brendan Fehr will be buying us all drinks!
