Thor: The Dark World is Marvel’s next film to hit theaters this year, and today we have a new poster which features Natalie Portman and Chris Hemsworth.
We saw quite a few of Thor: The Dark World’s cast at Comic-Con recently, and more importantly, we saw Loki break into Hall H and introduce the new footage from the film.
While we’ve seen a few Thor: The Dark World posters before, this is the first one with essentially all of the cast included. It may remind fans of a certain Star Wars poster. Click on the Thor: The Dark World poster below to view it in HD, thanks to EW:
It’s nice to see the majority of the cast in the poster, but it does look like a fairly simple photoshop job – but we’ll take it. Thor: The Dark World is looking more and more like it will trump the first film, as the footage we saw at Comic-Con was very promising.
We’re seeing a much darker film than before, and while the comedy aspects are still present, we can tell that Game of Thrones’ director Alan Taylor has had a huge impact on the style of the film.
Given the presence of the Dark Elves (including Malekith) in the film, it may be safe to say that we’ll be treated to something more cosmic and less Earthly than Thor. The next trailer for Thor: The Dark World will land online on August 7, so be sure to check back next week.
This may be Marvel’s transition into Guardians of the Galaxy, which will be a very space-filled film. Thor’s sequel is definitely on our radar and we look forward to its November 8 release date.
