A third Monsters University trailer has been released and features a look at the school’s Scare Games!
This final (?) trailer for the Monsters, Inc. prequel is packed with new footage highlighting Mike and Sulley’s tumultuous early days as friends. The trouble between the two leads them to getting kicked out of the University’s elite Scare Program.
There are some instant-classic moments within the new Monsters University trailer, like Sulley insisting he doesn’t shed before Mike hits his bed and makes a bunch of hair fall out.
We also get to see the beginning of The Scare Games, a competition that the Monsters University fraternities and sororities must compete in. You can learn more about these monster-packed college groups in our previous story.
Finally, there are some bright moments with several new college-aged monsters, including those voiced by Helen Mirren, Alfred Molina, Dave Foley, Sean Hayes, Charlie Day, Nathan Fillion, Bony Hunt, John Krasinski, and Aubrey Plaza.
Monsters University began screening earlier this month to critics and in select college movie theaters. The film “is a fun broad college comedy set in a cleverly designed world, surprising turns & gutsy message,” said one review by a critic. “Funny, clever and beautifully animated: what I expect from Pixar,” said another. Monsters University opens in theaters June 21, 2013.
