Disney Pixar screened a rough cut of their 2013 film Monsters University at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Nevada today, and the first reviews are very positive.
CinemaCon is held for movie theater owners so they can meet with studios and learn about their upcoming films. A few members of the press also get to attend.
Below are a few tweets from various bloggers who saw today’s rough cut of Monsters University, Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. prequel:
Monsters University (by @mrdanscanlon) is a fun broad college comedy set in a cleverly designed world, surprising turns & gutsy message

While there is no Boo, Monsters Univ has as much heart as Monsters Inc. I love love love the message in it, another wonderful Pixar movie.

Just screened all of Monsters University at CinemaCon! Funny, clever and beautifully animated: what I expect from Pixar.

The screening was a part of Disney’s panel at CinemaCon where they confirmed the release date for Pete Docter’s inside-your-mind movie Inside Out and screened the first footage from The Good Dinosaur. Disney also revealed that they plan to release a Star Wars movie every summer beginning in 2015. Standalone Star Wars films will be inserted in between Episode VII through IX’s releases.
