Peter Molyneux’s studio, 22cans, are currently trying to Kickstart Godus, a god game for PC and mobile. With three days remaining on its Kickstarter, 22cans have released a video showing a prototype of Godus.
The prototype took the studio less than two weeks to produce and showcases the core mechanics of Godus.
Your nation starts with two followers, and as you clear and sculpt the landscape, your followers start to build a town. You gain power and, as your nation continues to grow, you meet other players’ tribes. The prototype shows basic combat between followers of the different nations, and shows that you, as their ruler, can also have a hand in battles.
Recent endorsements from Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson and Garry Newman, the developer behind the ever-popular Garry’s Mod may help the project to gain the backers it desperately needs.
A pledge of £15 (approximately $24) will give you a download of Godus when it releases. The estimated launch date is September 2013, on PC, Mac, Android and iOS.
