Now we know that at least one other iconic cast member from the original series will be back: Mitch Pileggi announced that he’ll be reprising the role of Skinner for the reboot!
Very happy to announce that Walter Skinner will once again be getting all grumpy and bitchy with his two wayward kids. Very happy.

Walter Skinner was a recurring character during all nine seasons of The X-Files, appearing in a total of 81 episodes. His character also recurred on the short-lived spin-off The Lone Gunmen.
As supervisor of the X-Files office, Skinner often butted heads with Mulder, and to a lesser degree Scully, as they got drawn into the increasingly mysterious cases.
Although initially presented as a man of questionable loyalties (and who was often controlled by outside forces), Skinner ended up being an invaluable ally to our heroes, and eventually came around to believing in Mulder’s cause.
We’re very happy to get confirmation that he’ll be back! Now we just need William B. Davis to return as the Smoking Man, and we’re good to go.
