Meghan Ory is the latest incarnation of many Little Red Riding Hoods in pop culture, and in a new interview she discusses playing the iconic role and what it’s like working on Once Upon a Time.
Ory speaks to Poptimal about how much she enjoys the series, saying:
Everyone seems to be hungry for a show like this. It’s fun and an escape and there’s nothing dark. No one’s being murdered or sliced apart. It’s just a fun show to be a part of every night. […] It was my favorite pilot that I read. I loved it… It was just so different and so unique and so well written and interesting and I was like, ‘I don’t care if I’m not in this, I just can’t wait to watch the show.’
She also reveals that while her character is in the background for now, the show’s Lost-esque structure will allow her to become more central later, and we’ll definitely see more of her! On playing an iconic fairytale character like Riding Hood, she says:
You get a lot of room to just play with different things. You’re still playing a person, so it’s Red Riding Hood which is an iconic character, but she’s still a person. You just need to find those things that make her who she is, that make her real.
We can’t wait to see more of her on the show! Read the full interview here at Poptimal.
