The new He-Man movie, titled Masters of the Universe has taken one step forward and on step back on the road to the big screen.
Good news first: the Masters of the Universe movie, which may or may not star Twilight‘s Kellan Lutz, finally has an official release date: Sony Pictures has announced that the movie will be in cinemas starting December 18, 2019.
But according to EW, the project is now in need of a new director, as Charlie’s Angels‘ McG has left the project.
Sony is now meeting with new potential directors, and EW can further reveal that the script is being written by David S. Goyer of Batman and Superman fame.
Masters of the Universe is a re-imagining of the He-Man cartoon series and 1980s’ live-action movie. It follows the titular He-Man, also known as Prince Adam, who needs to defend his homeland of Eternia from the evil forces of Skeletor.
