Cat Taylor has updated the Making Game of Thrones production blog with a short post about how the show is now using three units.
Taylor, who has been updating us with all kinds of interesting Game of Thrones filming snippets, writes:
Today is the first day of Game of Thrones becoming a three-unit show. That means that, for the next two weeks, on any given day, there could be three directors, three DOPs and three sets of crew all filming at different locations simultaneously. The name of our new unit, joining the ranks of WOLF and DRAGON?
RAVEN.
Which one would you be?
We love that they name their production units after magical beings in the show! Although the first two could also be House mascots, so we’re surprised the new one isn’t called “Lion.” Unless the names are clues as to what storylines the production team is following? In that case, Dragon would primarily follow Daenerys’ journey, Wolf would probably follow the Starks, and maybe Raven has been made specifically for Jon Snow and the other raiders that have gone beyond the Wall?
Which team would you be on?! Wolf and Dragon both sound pretty epic, but we wouldn’t mind following around Jon, either!
Game of Thrones returns with its third season on March 31, 2013.
