As if Deadpool wasn’t already promising to be rocking enough, composer Junkie XL will add his Furiosa-approved tunes to the Ryan Reynolds-led superhero movie.
Composer Junkie XL (also known as Tom Holkenborg) announced on Twitter that he’ll be providing the score for Deadpool:

This is fantastic news if you’re a fan of Mad Max: Fury Road (and who isn’t?!), as Junkie XL is responsible for the crazy soundscape of that movie, which he himself calls the Fury Road “rock opera.”

Speaking to HitFix about his collaboration with Fury Road director George Miller, Holkenborg said, “I felt we needed music that needed to be so over the top on the score, that builds and builds until it lifts these characters out of the crazy world around them.”
Stylistically, Deadpool appears to be very similar to Fury Road, with director Tim Miller and lead actor Ryan Reynolds taking the fan-favorite character to simultaneously violent and hilarious places in the Comic-Con trailer released earlier this year.

Knowing what we know about Deadpool, getting the composer of movies like Fury Road and 300: Rise of an Empire seems like such a duh decision in hindsight. Junkie XL is sure to make Deadpool even more epic than it already was!
Incidentally, Junkie XL is also scoring Warner Bros.’ upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
