The sequel to the fan favorite web series Nothing Much To Do has premiered — watch it here now. Just what have your favorite Shakespeare-inspired New Zealanders been up to? Find out now in the premiere episode of Lovely Little Losers.
The premiere episode reintroduces us to Nothing Much To Do characters Benedick Hobbes (Jake McGregor), Stanley “Balthazar” Jones (Reuben Hudson), and Peter Donaldson (Caleb Wells). We also meet the first of the new faces, in this case Freddie Kingston (Bonnie Simmonds). Nothing Much To Do brought Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing into the modern day, and Lovely Little Losers is inspired by Love’s Labour’s Lost.
Fans of Nothing Much To Do will notice some changes in Lovely Little Losers immediately. Peter (formerly Pedro) and Stanley (formerly Balthazar) appear to be going by their given names now that they are at university. After the revelation at the end of Nothing Much To Do that he was bisexual, Peter now seems to be very open about his sexuality. But it’s bad news for fans who shipped Pedro and Balthazar; although there was hope that the ship was setting sail at the end of the last series, there is no indication of happiness on the horizon for the pair in the sequel.
Finally, and perhaps most noticeably, aside from the glimpse of her in Ben’s recap montage, there is no mention of Beatrice, with whom he was involved at the end of Nothing Much To Do.

Lovely Little Losers is the brainchild of the Candle Wasters, a group of young New Zealand filmmakers, comprised of Claris Jacobs, Elsie Bollinger, Minnie Grace and Sally Bollinger.
Hypable spoke with the Candle Wasters earlier this year about what fans can expect from the new series. We also revealed some first look photos of Lovely Little Loser and the new cast members involved.
‘Lovely Little Losers’ synopsis:
“The show combines elements of Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost with the characters from Nothing Much To Do. The new series is set in a flat in Wellington; four University students decide to impose a set of ridiculously strict flat rules on themselves. Vegan Fridays, compulsory flat-bonding, 10PM curfew, and the harshest rule of all: no romantic relationships. However this is a rom-com.”
The entire Lovely Little Losers series will be released in 2015, the Candle Wasters revealed in a press release. Unlike Nothing Much To Do, which was split across various channels, all episode will be on one YouTube channel with episodes released every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
