The 10-year anniversary of the Lost premiere is fast approaching (do you feel old yet?), and there’s talks about reuniting the cast and crew for next year’s San Diego Comic-Con.
J.J. Abrams’ cult hit series Lost premiered September 2004 and concluded its six-year run in 2010.
Although the series finale was more than four years ago, fans of the series are still debating the big mysteries of the island, such as the smoke monster, the frozen donkey wheel, the Others, and the Dharma Initiative.
And whatever mixed emotions exist about the ending, there is no denying that Lost had a profound impact on all who watched it, and will go down in history as one of the greatest TV dramas of all time.
Naturally, then, the 10-year anniversary of the show must be commemorated in some way, and what better than a panel at San Diego Comic-Con (where Lost also had a big presence when it was on the air)?
It worked for Firefly in 2012, and this year saw the reassembling of The X-Files cast. And as most Comic-Con connoisseurs know, the convention is as much about celebrating old classics as about promoting new products.
But will it happen for Lost? Michael Emerson (Ben Linus) has told Zap2It that there are currently, “Murmurings of some kind of reunion,” whether that be at Comic-Con or at a different venue.
The SDCC Blog speculates that a Lost reunion might instead be organised at PaleyFest, a yearly television series celebration featuring large actor/producer panels for popular series.
The Lost crew had a great, nearly full-cast panel to promote its first season at Paley, so this would certainly make everything come full circle.
Either way, we hope that a Lost reunion panel does indeed become a reality! Most of the cast and crew are currently working on big projects, but hopefully they can find the time to celebrate this iconic series they were once a part of.
