The friendships featured in Looking‘s freshman season provide the foundation for the lives of each individual character to build off of. From the outset, viewers learn little about the eight years Patrick, Dom, and Agustîn spent fostering the bond they currently share. However, it does not matter. What does come into play, is the affect their opinions and support have over other aspects of their lives.
Dom, the elder of the group, makes a bold move to take a reminder from his sordid past and use it as a catalyst to start building a future he can be proud of. A new business partner may be his ticket away from trying to regain a period of his life that is long over. Agustîn’s relationship with his long-time boyfriend, Frank, kept his art and dream alive for a majority of the season. After Agustîn’s latest venture in the art world compromises his relationship, Agustîn must figure out where to turn next.
Patrick, the center of the story, has taken a few strides in his otherwise awkward personal life. Kindling a romance with Richie, after a disastrous first attempt, leaves him in a constant state of panic when they are in public together. Last week, Patrick’s nerves got the best of him and led to Richie’s decision to not attend Patrick’s sister’s wedding. Add into the mix Kevin, Patrick’s attractive boss, drunkenly kissing Patrick in the bathroom, and you can imagine the messy morning Patrick has ahead!

As the season winds down it is time for Dom’s first go at a pop-up restaurant. Patrick returns to work, where Kevin tries to awkwardly apologize for making a pass at him. Meanwhile, Agustîn tries, with the aid of some pills, to figure out his next step with Frank.
