Last night on Spike’s new hit show Lip Sync Battle Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt held nothing back as they battled it out on the stage.
To start the night out Anne Hathaway gave a stunning performance of Mary J Blige’s “Love,” which Emily Blunt deemed a cheap trick with her dance moves. Apparently Blunt was expecting Hathaway to start out with a show tune.
Blunt followed up with Blackstreet’s “No Diggity,” and amazed the crowd with her (lip sync) rapping skills. Who knew she had it in her? And despite saying Hathaway was cheap to try and seduce the crowd with her dance moves, Blunt had some tricks of her own. Including grinding up on Hathaway, we’re not complaining.
But the night was just getting started! The real fun started when the actresses got to break out the big guns with costume, props, and back up dancers. Blunt took us back with Janis Joplin’s “Piece of My Heart,” fur coat, flowers, and red sunglasses included. She also got the crowd included with balloons and balls to throw about as they enjoyed her performance.
But Hathaway broke all barriers when she came out to preform Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball,” and we had to do a double take to make sure she hadn’t actually sent out the real singer. Okay, that’s a bit of an exaggeration but you get the point. Hathaway didn’t hold back on dressing up or lack of dressing up. It was the little details like red lips, piercings, and nails that made the look complete.
Hathaway wasn’t afraid to get close and personal with a sledgehammer or wrecking ball. Which drove us and the crowd wild.
It was no surprise to us who ended up winning the Lip Sync Battle
