Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis has a new project in the works with a Let the Right One In adaptation, and it’s now moving forward.
Teen Wolf season 6 will be the last for the hit MTV series, which is something no fan ever wants to hear about their favorite television show. Good news is on the horizon, however, as the cast and crew branch out and join new projects.
For Shelley Hennig, that’s When We First Met and for Dylan O’Brien, that’s the adaptation of American Assassin.
For Jeff Davis, it’s Let the Right One In, which now has a pilot order from TNT, as reported by Deadline.
Davis wrote the script and will executive produce the project. Joining him from Tomorrow Studios will be Marty Adelstein (Aquarius, Teen Wolf) and Becky Clements (Aquarius), as well as Simon Oakes (Let Me In) of Hammer Films.
The story “follows [a] boy and female vampire, who lives in secrecy with her mysterious guardian. When a series of strange murders pops up in their small Vermont town, it attracts the attention of a federal marshal with a mysterious past of his own.”
Let the Right One In is based on John Ajvide Lindqvist’s novel, which was adapted into a movie by Tomas Alfredson in 2008. The film, starring Kåre Hedebrant and Lina Leandersson, earned high praise from critics.
In 2010, an English version of the movie was made, titled Let Me In. Kodi Smit-McPhee and Chloë Grace Moretz (above) were the stars of the Matt Reeves-directed project. You’ll notice that Oakes is involved with Davis’ version, having been a producer on Let Me In.
Of the project, Sarah Aubrey, EVP of original programming for TNT, states, “Let the Right One In combines elements of horror, revenge thriller and adolescent romance into an unforgettable and truly unsettling tale.”
She continues, “This novel is a watershed of rich storytelling, making it an abundant source from which Jeff, Marty, Becky and Simon will bring to life in this all-new adaptation.”
