We have a new look at Legends of Tomorrow concept art as well as comments from new showrunner Phil Klemmer.
The concept art, revealed in Entertainment Weekly’s Comic-Con preview issue, portrays Firestorm, the Atom, Captain Cold, and the Flash presumably fighting Vandal Savage’s lackeys. Check it out below:
It’s interesting that the concept art has Firestorm front and center, as only half of the hero, Martin Stein (Victor Garber), has been tapped as a series regular. Robbie Amell, who plays the other half of Firestorm, Ronnie Raymond, is “expected” to appear in Legends of Tomorrow, just not as a series regular.
Garber adds, “Robbie and I will be joined on the first episode of the [next] season of The Flash, and then we’ll see what happens.”

Legends of Tomorrow will feature an odd assortment of heroes and villains teaming up to stop an immortal foe. And they aren’t particularly working well together, according to Klemmer, at least in the beginning.
“They’re screwups,” Klemmer says. “Instead of tiptoeing through history, they’re plodding through it, leaving their footprints and fingerprints and constantly having to wonder whether they’re going to screw the future up rather than fix it… It’s going to be total madness.”
Based on the trailer, madness seems to be an apt description of what we’ll see from the Arrow and The Flash spinoff.
“Who can resist the urge to correct the past or to investigate the future?” Klemmer adds. “The idea of traveling through time has a caper quality to it, and that’s what we’re looking forward to. Yes, there will be the big ‘try to stop Vandal Savage’ [plot], but people will inevitably become diverted on their little side missions and when people are trying to fix their own timeline, that’s when you really start screwing things up.”
Legends of Tomorrow is expected to have a 2015-16 mid-season premiere on The CW.
