The executive producers and stars of Legends of Tomorrow teased the upcoming Legends of Tomorrow at Comic-Con.
Legends of Tomorrow is the highly-anticipated superhero team-up series that will spin off from Arrow and The Flash. From the panel at Comic-Con, which was moderated by Geoff Johns, we learned a bit more about what to expect when the series debuts at mid-season on The CW.
Hawkman confirmed
One of the big reveals was that Hawkman would appear in the series. There are multiple versions of Hawkman to appear in the DC comics, including archaeologist Carter Hall and alien policeman Katar Hol, but Johns didn’t elaborate on which version would appear.
No casting was announced either.
‘Arrow’ and ‘The Flash’ will set up ‘Legends’
Early episodes of Arrow season 4 and The Flash season 2 will introduce plot points and characters related to Legends. Some examples given were “resurrecting” Ray Palmer, who Starling City believes died in a major explosion at the end of season 3, and bringing Sara Lance back to life via the Lazarus Pit.
The mid-season Arrow/Flash crossover (which took place in episode 8 of each show last season) will then serve as a springboard for Legends, which will premiere at mid-season.

Time travel will feature heavily
With a time traveler, Rip Hunter, coming from the future to assemble the team, that time travel will feature heavily in the series should come as no surprise. However, we’re getting a few more details about just what that will entail. For example, because Vandal Savage is immortal, the team will face off against him in different time zones.
A question that then arises is how those confrontations affect other time streams, EP Andrew Kreisberg teased.
The series will also take advantage of its ability to travel through time. “We’ll be going to some not just incredible places, but some incredible moments,” EP Marc Guggenheim said.
Team dynamics will be messy
Brandon Routh teased that Ray Palmer, as a CEO, will be excited about the team venture and feel qualified to lead. Whether he succeeds at that will be another story.
Victor Garber added that Martin Stein will try to mediate the group.
However, according to Wentworth Miller, that won’t be easy. Captain Cold won’t be excited about joining a team because he’s “used to being the guy in charge. He’s not a team player,” he said. “These guys have to work together, but it’s going to be a bumpy ride.”
Dominic Purcell added that Heat Wave will be “pissed” about joining the team, but he follows Captain Cold so has little choice.

Not to mention, resurrected assassin Sara Lance won’t be the most stable of fixtures, according to Caity Lotz. “The person who goes into the [Lazarus] Pit isn’t necessarily the person who comes out,” she said, adding that Sara “was already pretty crazy. Now after that, I want her to go nuts.”
It’s going to be crazy
According to the EPs, ideas that were considered too crazy or out there for Arrow or The Flash are the kind that will find a home on Legends.
“Legends of Tomorrow, all it is is the crazy ideas. It’s bonkers,” Kreisberg said.
Legends of Tomorrow will premiere at mid-season on The CW.
