In the passing of Glee front man Cory Monteith, many people who are fans of the show have expressed their condolences towards girlfriend and co-star Lea Michele, who has now released a statement.
US Weekly is reporting that Lea’s rep has made the following statement regarding Lea Michele’s gratitude towards the outpouring of love from friends, family and fans:
“Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she’s received from family, friends, and fans. Since Cory’s passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them. They are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together. We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory’s family.”
It was just announced yesterday via the British Columbia’s coroner’s office that Cory Monteith, 31, died Saturday night of an overdose of heroine and alcohol. Cory had been in rehab earlier this year and was allegedly in good spirits in the days leading up to his tragic and untimely death.
Though there has been no official word on what will happen with season 5 of Glee considering the death, there is speculation that production will likely be delayed several months with the season 5 premiere of Glee potentially happening in November.
Our hearts go out to Lea Michele and her family and friends as they process the grieving and mourning of such a sudden loss.
