Twilight star Kristen Stewart is breathtaking in the Rolling Stones’ new music video, “Ride ‘Em On Down.” Watch it here.
The Rolling Stones have a new album out called Blue and Lonesome. Off that album comes “Ride ‘Em On Down,” a song that embodies the classic Stones’ sound with an all-American feel that is truly brought to life in the accompanying music video.
Kristen Stewart stars in the video, which takes viewers on a joyride through dusty small towns and an abandoned city. The video seems to consciously borrow conventions from old jeans, tobacco and car commercials to invoke nostalgia for the era of sleepy USA that seems very far away now.
Go for a ride with Kristen Stewart:
As quoted by NME, Stewart says that she was attracted to the idea of doing this music video almost immediately:
“It didn’t take much more than a few words to get me amped on the idea. The Stones. A 65 Mustang. Alone in Los Angeles. And the shoot was just as dreamy as the idea. We tore LA apart in a day and we had one hell of a soundtrack.”
Blue and Lonesome hit stores today (December 2), and features 12 tracks that were recorded in just three days. Aside from original songs there are also covers of songs by Jimmy Reed, Willie Dixon, Eddie Taylor and Howlin’ Wolf.
