It’s been an exhausting week for Kanye West, and the final result is he’s been voluntarily placed in the hospital due to his “erratic” behavior.
Then again, Kanye’s behavior isn’t exactly stable at all times.
Past incidents aside, on Saturday, Nov. 19, Kanye went on a rant against both Beyonce and Jay-Z for apparently not returning one of his calls. He then cut the concert short.
Following the tirade, the remainder of his Saint Pablo tour was cancelled.
“He’s just exhausted,” a source told TMZ. “He’s been working around the clock on fashion design, both his own line and the Adidas line.”
The tour was supposed to end on December 31. All tickets will be refunded, and the same source says the second leg of the tour will kick off in 2017, but no dates have been set just yet. Adding, “He doesn’t want to give fans anything less than his best.”
TMZ also reports that police were called to the home of Kanye’s trainer to check up on the rapper due to erratic behavior at 1:20 p.m. PT on Monday, Nov. 21.
By the time they arrived, he had calmed down, but both his management and the police officers on the scene thought it best he still get checked out.
TMZ’s report also states he was handcuffed to his gurney during his trip in the ambulance, though this may have just been a precaution rather than a reaction to any specific behavior he was eliciting at the time.
Kanye’s actions were apparently due to “severe sleep deprivation,” which will only be cured by some rest and relaxation. It’s probably best the rapper decided to cancel the remainder of his tour, both for himself and his devoted fans.
