Most fans think that nerd-god and The Avengers director Joss Whedon can do no wrong, but could his words about Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back taint his image?
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Joss Whedon revealed that he has a big problem with Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back:
“Empire” committed the cardinal sin of not actually ending.

The interviewer was shocked, as you may be now. Whedon clarified:
Well, it’s not an ending. It’s a Come Back Next Week, or in three years. And that upsets me. I go to movies expecting to have a whole experience. If I want a movie that doesn’t end I’ll go to a French movie. That’s a betrayal of trust to me. A movie has to be complete within itself, it can’t just build off the first one or play variations.
Don’t be too concerned, as Whedon also said that Empire Strikes Back and The Godfather Part II were two sequels that were made well. He just has a problem with the ending of Star Wars: Episode V, something we can understand.
What do you think? Do you agree with Whedon and have a problem with the end of Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back or do you think his words are blasphemous?
