The actors of Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy are notorious for being tight-lipped (well, except for Michael “I’ll say whatever the hell I want” Caine), so now that the series is over and done with, why wouldn’t JGL open up about his much-talked-about role in The Dark Knight Rises? Obviously, spoilers are ahead.

Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel last night, Joseph Gordon-Levitt was able to spill a few words about the ending of The Dark Knight Rises and what he thinks it means in the scope of the trilogy, as well as if he believes it will open up a whole new can of franchise worms.

Thanks to CBM (via Slashfilm) for the video!

Personally, we wouldn’t necessarily throw ourselves into the river if Brick director Rian Johnson were to throw his hat into the ring for a Nightwing series, but that’s just us.

What do you think? Were the last moments of The Dark Knight Rises meant to be the perfect ending, or did you interpret it as a whole new beginning?
