Dennis Quaid flipped out on a movie set recently, and the video evidence has gone viral as everyone wonders whether it’s real, or a hoax. Either way, it appears that Jimmy Kimmel had nothing to do with it.
Sixty-one-year-old Dennis Quaid has made headlines recently, for a very unfortunate reason: his on-set meltdown has gone viral, leading everyone to question the actor’s mental well-being.
In the original video (see below), Quaid screams profanities at the director, the crew and his fellow actors, calling them unprofessional and berating them for interrupting the take.
“Don’t f–king ‘Dennis’ me,” Quaid yells as a crew members tries to calm him down. “I am doing my job here. I am a pro! This is the most unprofessional set I have ever been on!”
Many people are claiming that the video is too insane to be real, and that it’s somehow a publicity stunt. When someone suggested that it was staged to promote Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the talk show host addressed the video in his monologue:
“I watched that video last night, about 14 times … and when I woke up this morning, I was being blamed for it!” Kimmel says. “And I have to say, it’s disappointing, because you play 50 pranks and all of a sudden people don’t trust you anymore.”
Kimmel then segues into a Daffy Duck clip using Quaid’s rant as a very well-fitting voice-over. He does not outright deny that he was involved, but it seems pretty clear that Quaid’s meltdown was not, in fact, a ratings ploy from Kimmel’s side.
