Ellie Goulding appears poised to join The Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack, according to a tweet from the singer.
The news came when a user asked Goulding if rumors were true that she was appearing on the Catching Fire soundtrack. The singer was surprised that the Twitter user somehow knew:
@parabola17 how on earth did you know that?! Fair play
— Ellie Goulding (@elliegoulding) September 9, 2013
The Twitter user claims to have heard the song and said it was “one of the single greatest moments of my life.”
Goulding’s most recent single, “Burn,” has been a runaway hit for the singer. Her most recent album is Halcyon Days, a reissue of Halcyon.
On Friday, Coldplay unveiled their Catching Fire song “Atlas” which is the lead single for the compilation album. The release included a great lyric video.
Other rumored artists include Ed Sheeran, though he said in a recent radio interview that his song was turned down. Coldplay is the only officially announced artist so far. With their single out of the way, others should be revealed soon.
The Hunger Games franchise is at a fever pitch, so naturally many artists want to be involved with the project and know it would offer them huge exposure.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack will drop sometime in November ahead of the film’s November 22 release.
We’re big fans of Goulding and hope to see her on the soundtrack when all’s said and done. Thanks to Mockingjay for the tip.
