Tonight on How to Get Away With Murder season 1, episode 10, “Hello Raskolnikov,” Murder Inc gets interrogated by the police!
After an exceptionally long break, How to Get Away With Murder opened up tonight to Annalise in front of a mirror putting her makeup on as well as a different wig we’ve never seen before. We can hear a voice over of her at the police station telling the story of how she believes Sam murdered Lila. She also reveals that she was with Nate that night. As she tells a false story to the police about never seeing him, we see how Annalise found Sam’s body. We also find out that Annalise told Wes exactly how to dispose of the body.
Back at Annalise’s house, the students are all beginning to freak out and Connor is talking about the murder a bit loudly, isn’t he? Annalise promises that if he follows everything she tells him to do then everyone, including Rebecca, will be safe. Their conversation gets interrupted by Wendy Parks, who comes in and accuses Annalise of faking Sam’s disappearance in order to distract from the trial.
Annalise also takes this time to apologize to Rebecca for not going to the cops about Sam’s affair. Rebecca isn’t buying it and is starting to catch on to all of the secrets because Annalise never apologizes and Wes isn’t freaking out about bashing some guy’s head in.
Annalise is back in business in order to prove that Sam murdered Lila and the scenes that follow conveniently put all of the “couples” together. Connor heads over to Oliver’s apartment so he can hack into some things to prove that Sam was in Philadelphia the night Lila was killed. Laurel and Frank are together because two people are needed to pick hair off of a brush while Asher and Bonnie go off to retrieve Sam’s laptop.
They can’t get the laptop just yet, but things look up for Murder Inc. when Rebecca lets them know that Lila had asked about an abortion clinic even though abortions were against her character. If Lila wanted to keep the baby, then they have Sam’s possible motive.
Connor is the one in the group who is having the hardest time dealing with the murder. He’s so freaked out that he approaches Michaela to see if she’ll go to the police with him. Instead of agreeing, Michaela finds a way that they can get some of the footage from the abortion clinic.
Frank gets the DNA results back and Annalise finds out that Sam is, in fact, the father of Lila’s baby. Her relief is written all over her face and Sam can tell that something isn’t right. Annalise asks him to keep a secret and she presumably tells him the entire truth.
The video is in and on the tape it shows Lila and Sam at the clinic together. They can’t hear anything, but they are able to use the tape to find a witness. The receptionist at the clinic heard everything that day and in court she says that Lila definitely didn’t want to go through with the procedure. This is enough information to get access to Sam’s laptop, which eventually proves that Sam did go to Lila’s sorority house on the night she was killed. With this evidence against Sam, Rebecca is officially found innocent.
The problems aren’t over for Wes and Rebecca, though, because with the police now searching for a murderer, the rest of the students don’t feel safe with their plan. Connor, Michaela and Laurel all agree to go to the police to turn themselves in. But what Connor and Michaela don’t know is that Laurel told Wes about their intentions. So before they can confess, Annalise and Wes intercept them and convince them to stay quiet. She promises them that she will do anything in her power to make sure they get away with murder (sorry).
The episode ends with the mid-term exams and Annalise’s exam oddly parallels real life. Is this her way of finding an answer to their problems or is she just trying to tease them? That seems a bit sick to us.
In the last scene, Connor calls Annalise to tell her that her sister-in-law just showed up at the police station and it’s none other than Marcia Gay Harding. We knew it!
Well, that was quite the episode with a lot of information and clean up from the fall finale. There’s only three episodes left in the season, so we can expect to be getting even more intense episodes in the coming weeks.
