How to Get Away With Murder guarantees only one thing each week: that people kill for all sorts of reasons. The question is; who’s next?
How to Get Away With Murder routinely brings the crazy each week. If someone isn’t murdered, covering up a murder, or plotting a murder, it would be a big surprise. It would also be pretty boring. With season 2 about to launch its final episodes, it makes you wonder who is on the chopping block. What will this year’s cliffhanger be? After all, it wouldn’t be How to Get Away With Murder, without a murder.
Famke Janssen — Eve Rothlow
Eve Rothlow obviously played a big part in Annalise Keating’s life when the two were in law school and then as recent graduates. They were friends, colleagues, and lovers. Presently, they aren’t quite as close. They aren’t exactly frenemies, but there are definitely some unresolved issues that we don’t quite understand yet.
The one mystery that ties the two is Wes. Who is Wes to them exactly? Is he merely a child they got off the hook on a serious charge? Are they related to Wes? Did they have a connection to Wes’ family? Did they keep track over the years?
The bottom line is that there are a whole lot of questions, and questions aren’t always healthy on How to Get Away With Murder. We are going to call Eve’s odds of surviving to season 3 about 50/50.
Matt McGorry — Asher Millstone
For the past season and a half, Asher Millstone has always been the immature one, the one who doesn’t get how unfunny his humor is, and the one no one really wants to be around. He truly is an outsider with no strong ties to the core group.
Currently, Asher is more tightly wound than Kylo Ren, and that is saying something. He might look like a reasonable person on the outside, but when his very existence is threatened… boy does he snap. Not only did he deliberately run Emily Sinclair over, but he kept his car on top of her wondering if she was alive. The Asher we used to just roll our eyes at is gone. Who knows what plagued-by-guilt Asher is going to be like.
The other students may have been able to justify and then live with Frank’s murder as self-defense, but Asher sure doesn’t have the same luxury. He’s not going to be able to act normal the same way the others do. We know Bonnie has committed murder before to save the group. Might she take out her on-again/off-again lover if he becomes a liability?
As much as we like Matt McGorry, we can still catch him on Orange is the New Black. It would make for great TV to kill off one of the main students. We are calling Asher’s odds of surviving to season 3 about 30/70.
Conrad Ricamora — Oliver Hampton
We are all about the Colliver ship — Oliver and Connor are just amazing together. At the same time, nothing that good ever lasts on How to Get Away With Murder. Colliver being broken apart permanently could be a possibility.
Oliver wants in on Connor’s world very badly, but Oliver doesn’t have what it takes to handle himself in dangerous situations. The entire Phillip Jessup ordeal proved just how vulnerable Oliver is.
On the other hand, studio executives might not want to break up one of the hottest and most diverse ships on network TV. We are calling Oliver’s odds of surviving to season 3 about 80/20.
One thing is sure: no matter what happens this season, we are in for a wild ride. In the post-Annalise-gunshot-wound universe, there is lots of drama to be seen. When there’s drama (more so than usual) on How to Get Away With Murder, people die.
How to Get Away With Murder returns Thursday, February 11 on ABC at 10:00/9:00 pm.
