The Honest Trailer for this year’s Fantastic Four is unsurprisingly brutal, but also brings up some great points!
Josh Trank had a lot going against him when he was making Fantastic Four. Seemingly, he was fighting both an uncooperative studio and an unenthusiastic cast.
Does this absolve him of responsibility? We couldn’t say. But this Honest Trailer actually might make you rethink some stuff:
Clearly, Fantastic Four blew. But then again, so did Fox’s last attempts at bringing Marvel’s original team to the big screen.
The cast (with the possible exception of Michael B. Jordan) was unengaged, and the movie was so shoddily put together, it was — like the Screen Junkies point out — like two separate movies had been meshed together.
How great would it be to one day get a behind-the-scenes exposé at just why this giant Hollywood blockbuster managed to flop so badly?
We’re sure Josh Trank would be up for it, and given enough time, the actors probably would as well. Miles Teller seems like he wouldn’t shy away from reliving some of the bad memories.

At least we won’t have to worry about a sequel any time soon — Fox has reportedly pulled the planned follow-up off their schedule.
The second Fantastic Four movie was set for 2017, but now, Murder of the Orient Express will air in its place.
We don’t yet know what this means for the franchise going forward, but we’ll keep you posted! Do you think it’s too late for Marvel to sweep in and bring their O.G. heroes home?
