Showtime has released the first Homeland season 3 teaser trailer, and it includes nothing but cryptic messages in arabic.
The Homeland season 3 trailer contains no footage from the show but gets us excited for what’s ahead because things look grim.
At the end of the trailer we can hear Homeland lead character Brody say in Arabic, “I am a muslim lost in this world..help me come clean again.”

What clues can you discern from this first trailer?
Brody’s comment seems to suggest that Homeland season 3 will, at least in part, revolve around the distressed character’s fight to be able to return to his family and no longer have to be on the run from anyone.
We’d love to see other teasers like this one which each focus on an individual character and what their mission will be in the upcoming episodes. Carrie and Saul-centric teasers are much desired by this writer. The two characters have grown passionate fan bases over the past couple of years as we watch them try to deal with who Brody is and who they can trust, all the while watching Carrie fall in and out of love with Brody.
The Homeland season 2 finale saw Brody and Carrie separate for a final time after the former character fled to Canada.
A report in June indicated that season 3 will focus less on Brody. “You have to understand where he is. He is the most wanted man on the planet. By definition, he’s going to be hiding somewhere. And if he’s hiding, that limits what he can do,” said the show’s executive producer.
Homeland season 3 premieres Sunday, September 29 on Showtime.
