With The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies fast approaching its December 17 release date, the studio has released a very touching video which shows the main cast members saying farewell to the film series.
There are so many actors who have had their lives changed by director Peter Jackson and his two Tolkien trilogy films, and it’s only fitting that the cast reflect back on their most memorable moments during filming as The Hobbit trilogy comes to a close. Watch the cast say farewell below:
Lately we’ve been seeing new clips from The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies on somewhat of a daily basis, and we imagine that will continue as we approach the film’s December 17 release.
Early reviews of The Hobbit finale have been somewhat split, but they do seem to be leaning more towards positive than overly negative compared to the first two films. We’re excited about the finale due to the fact that Peter Jackson has an excellent eye for large scale battles, and this one will certainly have a massive battle.
Even without watching the video above, it’s definitely going to be bittersweet after the final Hobbit film hits theater, especially now that Jackson has said there most likely won’t be another Middle Earth related film. This is reportedly due to the Tolkien estate owning the film rights to the rest of J.R.R. Tolkien’s works.
The Hobbit finale’s entire run time has now been revealed to be 144-minutes long. Peter Jackson also recently stated that the final film will have 30 minutes added when its extended edition is released.
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies will be released in theaters worldwide on December 17, 2014.
