Grey is already a record breaker. The fourth book in E.L. James’ Fifty Shades of Grey series is already atop the sales charts.
A quick check of Amazon at anytime on Tuesday revealed that the new book, which is Fifty Shades of Grey but from Christian’s perspective, is #1 on Amazon’s paperback and Kindle best seller lists.
Here’s some photographic proof taken from Grey’s Kindle page:
Whether or not you’re a fan of the series, it’s interesting to see that the fandom is still strong even four years after the first book was published as a physical book (it started as a fan-fiction before moving to an eBook and then finally a printed book).
“In Christian’s own words, and through his thoughts, reflections, and dreams, E L James offers a fresh perspective on the love story that has enthralled millions of readers around the world,” the synopsis reads.
Interestingly, Grey clocks in at 576 pages, which is roughly 60 pages longer that the original Fifty Shades of Grey.
The new book will hit store shelves on June 18, which is also fictional Christian’s birthday. Judging by the success of this project, it wouldn’t surprise us (much) if the second and third books see a re-release from Christian’s perspective as well.
Meanwhile, Universal is currently at work on Fifty Shades Darker, the sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey. It’ll open in theaters next February 2017.
