Update: One more casting to tell you about, and this one’s important! Neil Casey will play the film’s villain. No details about the villainous role were revealed today, but the bad guy’s name is Rowan (no relation to the villain on Scandal of the same name). Here’s a picture of the actor:

The Ghostbusters reboot, starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, has added a few high-profile names to its cast list.
The Wrap reports that high-profile actor Andy Garcia will be playing the mayor of New York City, while The Wire‘s Michael K. Williams is playing a character named Hawkins.

It has also finally been confirmed that SNL‘s Cecily Strong will be in the movie, although her role is still shrouded in secrecy.
Ghostbusters began filming in Boston last month, and director Paul Feig has been releasing awesome behind-the-scenes looks at the team’s costumes, and some of the tech.
Yesterday, Feig shared instructions on how to build the perfect Proton Pack, which had all the Ghostbusters fans very excited.
Feig himself is a huge fan of the franchise, and speaking to Collider about the reboot several months back, he revealed that he was nervous about messing with its legacy.

“This is taking on a property that means a lot to people. I was just out of college when I saw the first one, and I loved it,” he said.
Feig added that he hopes people will hold off judgement until they see the final product. He explained, “The people I’m getting hammered by the most are guys kind of in their late thirties who grew up and ran around their neighborhood in those costumes, and I completely get it. I completely get it. So all you can then do is just, I don’t know what to tell you. I don’t want to say ‘Trust me’ but just go like, ‘Wait!’”
So far, it definitely seems like he knows what he’s doing.
