Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace) has joined the dark comedy The Wright Girls, written by Easy A‘s Bert Royal.
Reports THR:
Inspired by the Japanese movie 2LDK, the story revolves around two young actresses who live together, pretend to be best friends and are co-stars on a successful television show. In reality, they detest each other and go to extreme and violent lengths to do one another in when they end up competing for the same movie role.
Arterton is a great young talent who has had impressive turns as Strawberry Fields in Quantum of Solace, as well as playing the titular role in Stephen Frears’ Tamara Drewe. Roles in the unsuccessful blockbusters Clash of the Titans and Prince of Persia have slowed her career slightly, but she’s looking for a rebound role with The Wright Girls. Arterton will next star with Saoirse Ronan in the fantasy drama Byzantium, as well as play Gretel in Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters opposite Jeremy Renner.
Andy Fickman (You Again) is in talks to direct The Wright Girls. Are you interested?
