Trailer Is Coming: after several teasers, the first proper Game of Thrones trailer for season 3 is about to be released!
First came the raven. Then came the faces. And now, it is finally time for a proper look at season 3! HBO is releasing the 60-second long trailer tomorrow night (Friday, February 22) on the late-night talkshow Jimmy Kimmel Live, which airs at 9/8c on ABC.
Kimmel himself is a big fan of the series, and has shared his excitement about this reveal in a statement, saying, “I am so excited about this trailer, even I might watch my show.”
We’re sure he’ll be joined by scores of Game of Thrones fans across the country. While several behind-the-scenes featurettes and a large character gallery have already shown us many of the new characters and locations, it will be very different to see clips of the final versions of scenes cut together.
Last year, the season 2 trailers also featured some epic musical scores, and one memorable promo was accompanied by the Florence & the Machine song “Seven Devils.” Do you think tomorrow night’s trailer will have something similar? Or will it perhaps have another epic voice-over, or a passage from A Storm of Swords?
We hope to see glimpses of where all of the characters are situated as the season begins: at the end of the season 2 finale “Valar Morghulis,” Daenerys Targaryen left Qarth and her handmaidens behind her, Jon Snow was captured and taken to Mance Rayder’s wildling camp, Arya escaped Harrenhal, Jaime and Brienne began their epic adventure, and at King’s Landing Tywin Lannister was made Hand of the King while Joffrey agreed to marry Margaery Tyrell.
What will happen to them all in season 3? Only time will tell (unless someone who has read the book spoils you, so be careful!).
We’ll have the trailer up on Hypable as soon as it premieres! What do you want to see included? Share your thoughts in the comments!
