Universal has released the first extended clip for Furious 7, and it may be one of the craziest scenes ever from the Fast & Furious film series.
While some of this footage was seen in the previous trailer during the Super Bowl, this cast has shown that they’ve become a real family over the last decade, and we look forward to seeing them all back up on the big screen again.
From Furious 7’s first clip, it looks like the Fast and Furious crew will be dropping into some remote locations around the world, being joined by some new villains and some old friends. Obviously there has been a lot of talk about how the director planned on including Paul Walker’s death in the film, and whether his character would die in the film or be written out.
But, this first clip is pretty breathtaking, as Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, and the rest of the cast fly their cars out of a massive plane. Tyrese Gibson’s character refuses to do it, because he’s just too scared, but Ludacris’ character takes matters into his own hands. These movies might not be of the highest quality, but damn they look exciting. They’ve also released the first poster, seen below:
The film’s screenwriter, Chris Morgan, revealed that he’d decided to make Walker’s character exit more of a retirement during Furious 7, which prevented them from having to kill off his character. We imagine it was incredibly difficult for everyone involved due to Walker’s tragic car accident, but we look forward to seeing Furious 7 when the film hits theaters April 3, 2015.
James Wan directed the film, which also stars Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black. They’ll be joined by international action stars new to the franchise including Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Tony Jaa, Ronda Rousey, Nathalie Emmanuel and Kurt Russell.
