Could popular 90s sit-com Full House be the next show to see a revival? Sources say it’s definitely possible and also confirm that Warner Brothers is currently looking into bringing Full House back to television screens!
Iconic family values sit-com, Full House may be the next 90s show to see a revival according to sources at TV Guide, who learned on Tuesday that Warner Brothers is currently “mulling a new take” on the popular series which ran on ABC from 1987 to 1995.
According to the outlet, actor John Stamos (aka Uncle Jesse) is currently at the head of those pushing for a revival for the show, but he’s not the only familiar face attached to the potential new project. While the new show is in the very early stages of planning, the potential revival would find executive producer Bob Boyett and creator Jeff Franklin reuniting to create the new Full House. Additionally, if picked up, the show would also feature some familiar faces. Actresses Candace Cameron Bure (D.J.), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie) and Andrea Barber (Kimmy) are all reportedly on board for whatever Franklin (who is writing the new version) has in store. Bob Saget (Danny) and Dave Coulier (Joey) are both also reportedly involved as well. No word yet on whether either of the Olsen twins are interested in returning to the role that made them famous.
News of a potential Full House revival comes hot off the heels of The Disney Channel announcing that it has renewed its Boy Meets World spinoff for a second season. Perhaps the success of Girl Meets World had a small hand to play in Warner Brothers considering bringing Full House and the Tanner Family to a whole new generation of viewers.
