Beginning tomorrow, five cities will play host to the first Fifty Shades of Grey outdoor billboard.
The jumbo-sized Fifty Shades of Grey poster debuted on Entertainment Weekly Friday evening and depicts the title character’s backside. He’s looking out a giant window (we presume in his office) overlooking his hometown of Seattle, Washington.
He’s clothed, sadly. The tagline reads, “Mr. Grey will see you now.”
If you want to see the poster outside, you’ll find it in five locations beginning tomorrow (Saturday): New York City’s Grand St. & 6th Ave, Los Angeles’s Wilshire Blvd. & Gayley, Chicago’s LaSalle & Hubbard, San Francisco’s Mission St. & 6th, and Seattle’s 1st St. & Wall St.
Despite the promotional campaign, the film isn’t slated to hit theaters until Valentine’s Day weekend 2015. It was originally scheduled for an August 2014 debut, but after a casting hiccup, the studio decided to push the opening.
Fifty Shades of Grey is based on the book by E.L. James and stars Jamie Dornan as Christian and Dakota Johnson as his love interest Anastasia.
If Christian’s back doesn’t satisfy your thirst for the sex, check out photos of the leading man and his girl from a photoshoot in November.
Is a sleek, sexy promotional campaign a smart move for the movie?
Thanks, EW.
