The second episode of Fear the Walking Dead season 1 premieres Sunday night and won’t disappoint anyone who loved last week’s opening.
Hypable had early access to episode 2 and can promise you that tonight’s new episode will bring the intensity to an exciting new level. Certain characters will begin to accept that there’s a real threat taking over the city, and residents will begin to lose their sanity amid lots of confusion.
And yes, there will be deaths. A clip from tonight’s episode reveals that one character we met in Fear the Walking Dead episode 1 is likely doomed.
He/She’s not the only one who’s about to become a member of the undead.
One of the reasons we already love this new series is because the emotional stakes are so high. The characters on this show all know each other from before the apocalypse started, so the deaths come at a higher cost.
Fear the Walking Dead episode 2 is titled “So Close, Yet So Far” and refers to the physical distance in between characters as the outbreak continues to spread. As Los Angeles begins to fall apart due to this outbreak, characters begin to scatter and realize that they can’t easily reunite with one another.
“As Madison struggles to keep Nick from crippling withdrawal, Travis ventures out to find his son before Los Angeles falls,” reads a synopsis for the episode.

Last week’s premiere was watched by 10.1 million viewers, which AMC says is the biggest opening for a cable series premiere in TV history. We can’t wait to see if the show grows or loses some of its initial viewership tonight.
