Having signed on for the role of Isaac in The Fault in Our Stars movie just last week, Nat Wolff visited a hospital to speak to cancer patients.
The motive behind the visit was to hear stories from patients there to better portray his role as Gus’ best friend when they begin filming at the end of August.
“Visited UCLA’s cancer center,” Wolff tweeted on Tuesday morning. “Met so many amazing people. We wanna make sure fault in our stars honors them”
Wolff came involved with Fault after working with director Josh Boone on the helmer’s debut film Stuck in Love. He initially auditioned for the role of Gus, but Boone and producers ultimately decided on a supporting role for the up and coming actor.

An interview with Gus actor Ansel Elgort conducted at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this month indicated that he and Woodley, who plays Hazel, were also planning on visiting hospitals to speak to cancer patients.
Other preparation the stars will be doing includes meeting with The Fault in Our Stars author John Green and touring some of the locations featured in his book.
The Fault in Our Stars movie begins filming this August, and director Josh Boone plans to have the film ready for release by March or April 2014. That doesn’t mean, however, that the film will open in theaters at that time.
