The beginning of the Autumn season brings a brand new Fall TV lineup, and new shows mean a different batch of actors and actresses that we have probably seen somewhere before. It’s easy to forget where we know them from, so here are a few faces you may recognize from this fall’s premiere schedule:
BILLY BURKE
You can see him this fall as:
Miles Matheson on Revolution
You might recognize him from:
Twilight, Gilmore Girls, 24, Fringe
Charlie Swan is one of the brightest spots in The Twilight Saga films, played brilliantly by Mr. Billy Burke. You may also recognize him from short stints on 24, where he played Kim Bauer’s violent and obsessive boss for 7 episodes, or Fringe, where he played an old friend of Olivia’s with connections in “In Which We Meet Mr. Jones,” or Gilmore Girls, where he gave us Alex Lesman, whom Lorelai met at a seminar and dated for a short time.
You will soon be able to catch him on NBC’s new thriller/drama/mystery Fall TV show Revolution, playing Miles Matheson, who just might save the day after all electronics cease to work.
KYLE MACLACHLAN
You can see him this fall as:
Donovan Stark on Made in Jersey
You might recognize him from:
Desperate Housewives, How I Met Your Mother, Sex & the City
Kyle MacLachlan has played a large variety of characters throughout his 28 year career, including the villain Cliff Vandercave in The Flintstones, Trey MacDougal, a love interest for Charlotte on Sex and the City, and the ever crazy Orson Hodge on Desperate Housewives.
One of creepiest roles yet was as the The Captain, husband to Ted’s love interest Zoe, on How I Met Your Mother. He may be smiling, but his eyes say “He wants to murder you!”
In the Fall TV lineup, he can be seen playing a smarmy lawyer on Made in Jersey, which is surely going to exercise his particular talents.
KRISTIN KREUK
You can see her this fall as:
Catherine Chandler on Beauty and the Beast
You might recognize her from:
Smallville, Chuck, Eurotrip
As Lana Lang on Smallville, Kristin Kreuk graced televisions weekly for close to 9 years and solidified her place in our hearts. She managed to help bring new life to a classic story as the adolescent love of the future superhero. After nearly 3 years away, she returns on another CW program, Beauty and the Beast, as Catherine Chandler, a police officer with a tremulous past.
Those that were not huge Smallville fans may recognize her from Chuck as Hannah, the computer specialist that romances Chuck for a short time, or from Eurotrip where she played Fiona, the evil girlfriend that sparks the reason for her ex-boyfriend Scotty to embark on the Eurotrip.
TERRY O’QUINN
You can see him this fall as:
Gavin Doran on 666 Park Avenue
You might recognize him from:
Lost, Alias, The West Wing
Terry O’Quinn has been a staple on network TV for more than a decade and a half, making his mark on fan-favorite shows such as X-Files, JAG, and Alias, amongst many others.
His short stint on The West Wing playing General Nicholas Alexander for 7 episodes is an impressive accomplishment, but his most defining role would have to be John Locke on Lost. In a show chock full of interesting characters and shocking twists, Terry O’Quinn truly made his mark.
He can be seen this fall as Gavin Doran on 666 Park Avenue where it seems that there is some definite witchery afoot in his apartment building. Only time will tell what part his character will play in the madness.
STEPHEN AMELL
You can see him this fall as:
Oliver Queen (aka Green Arrow) on Arrow
You might recognize him from:
Private Practice, New Girl, The Vampire Diaries
A relative newbie on the scene, Stephen Amell has done quite well for himself. He portrayed paramedic Scott Becker on Private Practice, and seduced Violet after she and Pete separated. You may also remember him from New Girl where he played Cece’s date that takes a crazy drug trip on Valentine’s Day.
Most notable may be his experience playing a werewolf on The Vampire Diaries, as it may have been the stepping stone toward his newest day job. Starting this fall, Stephen will be playing the lead on the new CW show Arrow, and will (hopefully) be gracing our screens all season long fighting crime with his bow and arrows.
SUZY NAKAMURA
You can see her this fall as:
Yolanda on Go On
You might recognize her from:
How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family, The West Wing
This talented woman has been appearing in show after show for more than 15 years, collecting acting credits from shows like Modern Family, Grey’s Anatomy, and Curb Your Enthusiasm, amongst others.
She excelled on The West Wing as Sam Seaborn’s secretary Cathy during the show’s first season, and on How I Met Your Mother as the cardiologist that gives the whole crew a onceover after the tragic events at the end of Episode 13, entitled “Bad News.”
You can see her this fall in NBC’s Go On playing Yolanda, one of the group therapy participants with whom Matthew Perry’s character Ryan King bonds.
