In a tournament-style bracket where fans could vote for what they thought was the worst company in America, EA came out on top.
EA beat out Bank of America in the final round of the bracket held by the website Consumerist. “After more than 250,000 votes, Consumerist readers ultimately decided that the type of greed exhibited by EA, which is supposed to be making the world a more fun place, is worse than Bank of America’s avarice, which some would argue is the entire point of operating a bank,” the website reads.
The publisher has come under much scorn lately for holding back DLC that is on the game disc, for its many examples of poor customer service on the Origin digital distribution platform, and for its perceived role in the controversial ending to Mass Effect 3.
“We’re sure that bank presidents, oil, tobacco and weapons companies are all relieved they weren’t on the list this year,” EA said in a statement sent to Game Informer. “We’re going to continue making award-winning games and services played by more than 300 million people worldwide.”
Do you think EA deserves this over such major corporations such as Comcast and Bank of America?
